As far as sensational, buzzworthy trailers go, Robert Downey Jr. is on a roll. He's been a prominent fixture in two of the most talked-about teasers from two of the most anticipated films.

The first trailer is for "The Avengers," which Marvel and Disney rolled out last week, and the second is for Guy Ritchie's bromantic "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows," which hit the Interwebs on Wednesday (October 19).

This second trailer is all about upping the action and mystery. It opens with the voice of new leading lady Sim, played by Noomi Rapace. "What do you see?" she asks Dr. Holmes (Downey Jr.), to which he replies "Everything," as we are then shown quick cuts of what are likely pieces of the second film's big mystery. There are dancing couples in a glamorous ballroom (including Sim and Holmes) at some grand party, a game of chess, a possible crime scene with a pile of wreckage in the center, bullet holes in the walls, cocked pistols and — gasp! A shot of Rachel McAdams' shifty lady thief Irene Adler walking somewhere with haste and some sort of precious parcel. The last shot in the opening montage is a glimpse at Jared Harris as evil-ish Moriarty looking out from behind super-secret spy glasses (not really, he's just holding a lorgnette — those fancy glasses people use at the opera).

"That is my curse," Holmes says, a bookend to our introductory 20 seconds or so, before Ritchie kicks the action into high gear and packs the remaining two minutes and seven seconds with explosions, running, shooting, etc. — basically, Holmes and Watson (Jude Law) are up to their old tricks.

"Oh, how I've missed you, Holmes," Watson says to his friend.

"Have you? I've barely noticed your absence," Holmes answers back in a passive-aggressive tone, pretending not to have missed his best friend.

This brief exchange is followed by more quick cuts of exotic locations and Watson's wedding and an introduction to bad guy Moriarty.

"What are we up against here?" Watson asks Holmes.

"The most formidable criminal mind in Europe," Holmes says.

"Professor James Moriarty," Watson says, reading his name from Holmes' notes somewhere.

"If we can stop him, we can prevent the collapse of Western civilization," Holmes adds dramatically, before an explosion erupts in the background. "No pressure."

This is followed by more running, bullets flying, a slow-motion cat-and-mouse chase in the snow, banter with lady Sim, as well as a few Holmes and Watson moments, including one in which the former suddenly appears dressed in drag.

"What?" Watson says when he encounters Holmes as a lady.

"I agree it's not my best disguise," Holmes counters.

Finally there are more quick cuts of action, much of which looks to be set on a moving train that later explodes, along with a brief but passionate kiss between former lovers Holmes and Adler.

Check out everything we've got on "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows."

Lindsay Lohan?s Early Morgue Arrival

Perhaps she?s finally getting it right- Lindsay Lohan arrived at the LA County Morgue early this morning (October 21) to begin her community service.

The ?Mean Girls? actress was in a hurry to get inside, and did her best to shield herself from the paparazzi as she prepared for a day of cleaning up blood and guts.

Yesterday (October 20), LiLo had the audacity to show up more than 20 minutes late for her probation-required shift and was turned away.

Her rep blamed the tardiness on ?a combination of not knowing what entrance to go through and confusion caused by the media waiting for her arrival.?

Rihanna's Relationship History: In Her Own Words

Following 'We Found Love' video premiere, MTV News looks back at what Rihanna's said about her abusive relationship with Chris Brown.
By Jocelyn Vena

Many fans who watched Rihanna's "We Found Love" video were quick to tie the clip to the pop star's own experiences, describing the video as an "intense" visual experience.

The video, directed by Melina Matsoukas ("Hard," "S&M," "Rude Boy," "Rockstar 101"), tells the story of two young people driven not only by their dangerous passion for one another, but an equally dangerous passion for drugs. While their experiments with drugs certainly plays a big part in the story, their abusive relationship also helps weave the tale of the couple, played by Rihanna and British model/boxer Dudley O'Shaughnessy.

Rihanna has always been open about her own struggles in an abusive relationship, notably her relationship with Chris Brown, which culminated in a 2009 assault. In the two-plus years since the headline-making experience, Rihanna has moved the narrative toward her musical endeavors, which includes her forthcoming album, Talk That Talk, but the video also reminds fans of the singer's past, one she's never shied away from discussing.

When Rihanna sat down with MTV News in late 2009, she said she hoped young women would learn from her. "One of the big things for me, I always want to help young women and give them insight on different life experiences," she explained. "One of those things is going through an abusive relationship like I did. But that's one thing for me. So I don't want to be the big domestic-violence spokesperson, because that doesn't define who I am. But if I can help young women in any way, and that being one of the things they need help with, then I'll do that."

During the interview, Rihanna said she thought both she and Brown could grow as a result of the assault. "I know that he's going to take away something positive out of this entire experience," she said. "It was a life-changing experience for both of us. The best way that we can both win is if we come out learning from it and sharing with others, so they don't have to go through it like we did."

Rihanna's personal story had already been pegged to that experience when she was approached to record with Eminem on "Love the Way You Lie" in 2010 and the sequel for her album, Loud, "Love the Way You Lie (Part II)."

"I fell in love with it," she explained about making "Part II," noting she was originally unsure whether she could top the original. "We recorded it, then we did another version to the stripped-down version with drums, then we did another version with drums and Eminem. And then that was the one that just felt really good."

In the end, Rihanna said it was worth it because the song helped young women struggling with the same issues. "They got really emotional, and you automatically connect, because now you both have in common [something] that you wouldn't have been able to know if you didn't have this song to bridge that," she said. "This song, it gave a voice to victims. But what I really enjoy about this song is not only how cleverly written it is ... but the fact that [Eminem] confronts himself on this record is the biggest thing for me."

As she approaches the release of her new album, it seems Rihanna wants to leave all the talk about Brown in the past. "It was too much anger.

I'm really excited to see the breakthrough he's had in his career," she explained to Esquire. "It's incredible to see how he pulled out the way he did, even when the world seemed like it was against him. I really like the music he's putting out. I'm a fan of his stuff; I've always been a fan. I would never wish anything horrible for him. Never. I never have."

Chris Cornell Filling In For Robert Plant On Led Zeppelin Tour? That's News To Him

'I have not been approached to fill in for Robert Plant on the Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be,' singer says.
By Chris Harris

Former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell has spoken out for the first time about rumors that he's been asked to fill in for Robert Plant on a proposed Led Zeppelin reunion tour. The trek would feature original guitarist Jimmy Page, original bassist John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham taking over on drums for his late father, John Bonham.

Cornell has been mentioned — along with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar, White Stripes mastermind Jack White and Alter Bridge's Myles Kennedy — as a potential Plant fill-in. Plant has already said that he wouldn't take part in the tour.

"I have not been approached so far to fill in for Robert Plant on the upcoming Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be," Cornell told MTV News. "I've heard that from about 200 people now, and it might be one of those situations where it's just an online rumor or it might be true. But if you see anyone from Led Zeppelin around, let me know. I think I should actually fill in for Jimmy Page on the Robert Plant/ Alison Krauss tour."

Cornell's denial comes just a day after Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford confirmed reports that frontman Steven Tyler recently met with Zeppelin for an impromptu jam session. "They did it for fun," Whitford said during an appearance on the syndicated show "Todd N Tyler Radio Empire." "I actually think Jimmy wanted Steven to come over and play a little bit because I think he was trying to light a fire under Robert."

Rumors of a Zeppelin reunion tour have abounded since the iconic band played a single reunion set last year at London's O2 Arena. Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider added fuel to the fire last month when he revealed that the group was thinking of touring, with or without Plant.

According to Snider, the rest of the band told Plant, " 'We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go. Here's a gazillion dollars on the table. If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid [Myles Kennedy].' "

"And he can sing the sh-- out of Zeppelin," Snider added. "They're going to hope that Robert, at the last minute, will go, 'OK,' and step in."

In a recent interview, Jones told BBC Radio Devon that a new singer was being sought to take over for Plant. "We are trying out a couple of singers," he said. "We want to do it. It's sounding great, and we want to get on and get out there."

But Jones insists that he, Page and Bonham aren't interested in finding a Plant clone. "It's got to be right," he said. "There's no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don't want to be our own tribute band. There would be a record and a tour, but everyone has to be onboard."

Of course, even if Zeppelin were to approach him, Cornell might be too busy to take over vocals for the band. His upcoming Timbaland-produced solo LP, Scream, will be released within the next few months. Cornell told MTV News last month that some of his fans might consider Scream something of a departure, but he doesn't see it that way.

"It makes me happy that there's this perception that I have a group of fans that I'm now sort of throwing a curve at and what their reaction will be," he said. "But I've been in this situation so many times already. When I put out [1999's] Euphoria Morning, my main goal was to create an album that sounded like nothing I'd done in Soundgarden, and I did that. I also had that with Temple of the Dog, where I showed up with songs that weren't necessarily riff-based. And then, of course, the pairing of me and members of Rage Against the Machine had everyone sort of speculating about what that would sound like.

"It feels like I've done this so many times that when it's presented to me as being a departure, I feel that's a misconception," he added. "I feel like that's my theme at this point."

Drake Has 'Good Taste,' A$AP Rocky Says After Co-Sign

New York MC is ready to take his music worldwide, in Mixtape Daily.
By Rob Markman, with reporting by Steven Roberts

A$AP Rocky

A$AP Rocky has been pegged as hip-hop's next big thing. That phrase might get attached to someone (e.g. Drake, Wiz Khalifa) or some group (see: OFWGKTA) every few months, but A$AP is the first "next big thing" to come out of New York in a while.

No offense to French Montana, Fred the Godson or anyone else, but very few up-and-coming New York rappers have garnered as much love on both hip-hop and alternative blogs. And they certainly haven't been featured in The New York Times -- especially with just a handful of songs.

When MTV News caught up with A$AP Rocky in New York's Lower East Side, he said he had his sights focused on bigger things than the Big Apple.

"I live here, and New York raised me, New York made me, so at the end of the day, it's all love for New York. But I appeal to everybody. I want to appeal to people in West Bumblef---, Germany," A$AP said. "That's what it's all about. I can appeal to anybody. Anybody that was raised in poverty, middle class, low middle class, day-to-day regular things, they can relegate to me, because I speak that trill sh--."

A$AP Rocky -- born Rakim Mayers -- said he started rapping at age 8 but didn't really start taking it seriously until his late teens/ early 20s. The Harlem MC said, at first, he didn't know if he was Kanye West, Kid Cudi or what, but once he found himself artistically, other people started to really appreciate his work.

He also credited his three main producers -- ASAP Ty Beats, SpaceGhostPurpp and Clams Casino -- with developing his sound. Ty Beats has produced Rocky's two most recognizable songs: "Purple Swag," a sizzurpy ode to Houston hip-hop, and the boastful, melodic "Peso." Clams Casino rose to fame producing for Lil B the Based God, and Miami's SpaceGhostPurpp, owner of hip-hop's best name, is the producer Rocky goes to for his "trill sh--."

"I think my sound is a sound that was inspired by all hip-hop from different regions, cultures [and] times," he said. "My sound is everything mixed into one. It's the future. Basically, you don't have to be limited anymore, and you can sound how you want to sound. That's natural for us."

"A$AP" is an acronym and almost a surname adopted by Rocky's crew, and he said it can mean a variety of things, from Always Strive and Prosper to Assassinating Snitches and Police, but Rocky liked Acronym Symbolizing Any Purpose.

While most people wait on the release of his debut mixtape, Live. Love. A$AP, on Halloween, he's already been added to Drake's Club Paradise Tour. Rocky said he was honored by a co-sign, not only because it was Drake, but because he truly respected the Toronto MC.

"He's in a position to where if he co-signs somebody, it's valid, and he's a real lyricist, and he's got good taste. I mean, look at his music. Therefore, when he comes to listen to people like me and he gets inspired and then wants to take us out on tour, it just shows you he's a real dude."

Have you checked out A$AP Rocky yet? Share your thoughts on the new MC in the comments!
