'Amazing Spider-Man' Villain Debuts His Lizard Voice

'Anonymous' actor Rhys Ifans shows off his terrifying Lizard voice in an exclusive interview with MTV News.

For Andrew Garfield, becoming your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is as simple as slipping on some red-and-blue tights. For Rhys Ifans, the process of becoming the Lizard -- the reptilian nemesis Peter Parker will face in next summer's "The Amazing Spider-Man" -- is considerably trickier.

As is the case with so many superhero films these days, Ifans filmed his scenes as the Lizard while wearing a complicated motion-capture suit that will make way for the villain's scaly visage somewhere along the post-production process. But fans won't have to look too hard to see Ifans' performance shine through the presumably CGI-heavy Lizard's presence: His eyes, facial expressions and -- yes -- even his voice will be front and center when "Amazing Spider-Man" swings into theaters.

"It's totally my voice," Ifans told MTV News when asked if we'd be hearing his Lizard voice when the movie arrives next year. "I'm sure the voice will be toyed with in the eventual edits, but when I was shooting the CGI moments, when I wasn't actually human, when I was Lizard, I looked like a crash-test dummy in a green leotard thing. There were many moments when I had to speak to Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone as the Lizard."

Not content with simply telling us that we'd be hearing his Lizard voice, Ifans one-upped us with one heck of a terrifying exclusive: his first public performance of the Lizard's voice!

"Sooooo prettyyyyy," he hissed at MTV's Josh Horowitz, making our fearless reporter very, very uncomfortable. "Beauuuuutiful MTV ... "

Perhaps not the most menacing words Ifans could have strung together, but let us assure you, witnessing the incredibly talented "Anonymous" actor's Lizard drawl firsthand is not an experience we'll soon forget. If his Lizard voice is even half as terrifying in the final edit of "Amazing Spider-Man" as it was in person, webheads everywhere are going to be very pleased next summer.

What do you think of Ifans' "Spider-Man" voice? Let us know in the comments!

'Three Musketeers': Five Things You Need To Know

Before seeing Orlando Bloom and Logan Lerman in action, check out these fun facts.
By Eric Ditzian

When you're sequestered in a London hotel during the finest weekend of U.K. weather that anyone in that virtually sun-free territory can remember, you tend to learn a few things. People get a little loopy. They speak off the cuff.

Such is the situation MTV News found itself in earlier this month during a press day for "The Three Musketeers," when we ended up learning a few surprising things about director Paul W.S. Anderson's 3-D take on the classic Alexandre Dumas novel, an adaptation that stays true to the original's creative core but takes joyful liberties no one in the 17th century could ever have imagined. Read on for five rather surprising things you need to know about "The Three Musketeers," which hit theaters Friday (October 21).

Lerman's Crazy Hair
As we first noticed when set photos popped up last year during production, and as posters and trailers have subsequently made clear, star Logan Lerman rocks a very Jim Morrison-like hairdo to play D'Artagnan, a young chap looking to join the vaunted Musketeers. But Lerman didn't grow his hair out for the role, nor did he slap on a wig every day.

"It's extensions," he told us. "It was really uncomfortable. A wig would have been a more comfortable choice. I felt ridiculous walking around [off set]. I just had a beanie on all the time."

Bloom's Anti-"Pirates" Preference
At this point, after the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, Orlando Bloom approaches anything involving swords and seafaring with caution. What attracted the actor to "Musketeers" was that his director didn't want him, for once, to play the good guy.

"They wanted me to be part of the movie as Duke of Buckingham, as opposed to playing one of the Musketeers," he said. "That sold me. The idea that I got to be the kind of villain, sort of a bad boy, bit of a rogue. Lot of fun. Fun, fun, fun! I get to be an arrogant prick and get away with it!"

Jovovich's 3-D Assets
Milla Jovovich, who just so happens to be married to Anderson, insisted on doing all her fight training while wearing a corset -- a noble, if highly uncomfortable, decision. For her husband's film, though, she was willing to do whatever was necessary, including showing off her assets for Anderson's 3-D cameras.

"I did have to prepare a lot to make my cleavage what it was," she said. "I had to eat a lot of pasta and get cinched really tightly into the corset to get the effect and let the girls do the acting for me. Each one took classes. Stanislavski. I think the left one is more talented than the right."

Bloom's Rock Star
Not only does the Duke of Buckingham act differently than Bloom's "Pirates" good guy, he also dresses completely differently, often slipping into high heels and maintaining a wardrobe that contains every color you'd find in the rainbow (and many you would not). To pull it all off, Bloom turned to '70s-era rock and roll.

"The Duke had a questionable sexual background, no one was quite sure what his sexual flavor was or how many flavors he liked to participate in," Bloom explained. "He's a very outspoken and outrageous character. So for me, I just got to swagger through it all. You don't want the costumes wearing you. You've got to wear the costumes.

"Paul wanted the Musketeers to be superheroes and for me to be a kind of rock star. So I went with David Bowie from Ziggy Stardust," he added. "He wore some of those outrageous costumes onstage. So with the Duke, he just owns every square foot that he steps in. He's like, 'This is all my territory.' "

Anderson's Da Vinci Inspiration
Easily the most eye-popping features of "The Three Musketeers" are the fantastical airships he introduces to 17th-century Europe: part ship, part hot-air balloon, totally steampunk. In the film, the ships are said to be built from Leonardo da Vinci's actual designs. The truth, however, owes more to artistic license than Renaissance ingenuity.

"We did take our inspiration from his real etchings of airships," Anderson told us. "We felt that Da Vinci had designed so many extreme, futuristic things that we could take the liberty of saying this is one of his designs and have this flying galleon."

Catherine Tate Returns To ?The Office?

Fans of “The Office” are going to be thrilled to learn that Catherine Tate is returning! This is fabulous news! The character of Nellie Bertram, played by the hysterical Catherine Tate was introduced in last season?s finale as one of the candidates interviewing for Michael Scott?s position, which she clearly didn?t get. The powers that be at the sitcom were so impressed with Tate that they knew they had to bring her back, thus the character of Nellie got a new job within Dunder Mifflin as a ?corporate special projects manager. I am not entirely sure what that means but I do know it will be comical. Nellie is hired by Jo Bennett who I am sure you all know is the Chairman of the Board. Oh and I hear that Catherine?s character and James Spader?s Robert California will have a relationship that is far from professional, I can?t wait to see that. Adding Catherine to the cast of the hit NBC show is freaking awesome if you ask me. Yes the show is good but she will bring a certain level of comedy that will only make it better. I have been a fan of hers since I first [...]

Ciara Price Playboy Playmate Of The Month November Interview

Blonde bombshell Ciara Price is November?s Playboy Playmate of the month, however there is more to this young woman than just good looks. She is also a computer nerd. No I am not kidding. The other day I had the pleasure of interviewing Ciara Price who is Playboy?s Playmate of the month for November. I can not say enough good things about this girl who was probably one of the sweetest people I have ever had the pleasure of talking to. Rachelle: Congratulations on being Miss October! You were approached by a photographer about modeling for Playboy. Can you tell me a little bit about how that? Ciara: A photographer back home approached me about doing Playboy when I was 18. At the time I said no and then this year I was approached by the same photographer and decided to go for it. So the photographer actually submittied the pictues and I got a call that same day. I flew out to Los Angeles a week later to test. About a week and half after I tested I found out I was going to be a playmate. Rachelle: What made you decide you wanted to pose for Playboy this [...]

Usher To Donate Gadhafi Money To Charity

'I will be donating all of my personal proceeds...to various human rights organizations,' singer says of concert linked to Libyan dictator.

R&B superstar Usher announced Friday (March 4) that he was donating to various charities proceeds from appearing at a private event at St. Barts linked to Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi, according to a statement made to the Associated Press.

The Grammy award winner's renouncement comes after similar announcements from singers Mariah Carey, Nelly Furtado, and Beyoncé, all of whom were revealed to have performed at private concerts linked to the Middle Eastern leader, who has faced open revolt and major political uprisings since February.

"I am sincerely troubled to learn about the circumstances surrounding the Nikki Beach St. Bart's event that took place on New Year's Eve 2009," Usher said of the concert, at which he appeared alongside Beyoncé but did not perform. "I will be donating all of my personal proceeds from that event to various human rights organizations."

Usher has already begun the process, having made a donation to Amnesty International, the AP reports. The exact size of the donation is not known.

The New Year's Eve gig was reportedly for Moammar's fourth son Muastassim, who an unnamed music industry source told MTV News has a history of throwing lavish parties "jammed" with supermodels.

Beyoncé, who sang at the event, donated all proceeds from her performance to the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund, established in the wake of the Haitian earthquake.

"All monies paid to Beyoncé for her performance at a private party at Nikki Beach St. Barts on New Year's Eve 2009, including the commissions paid to her booking agency, were donated to the earthquake relief efforts for Haiti over a year ago," the "Halo" singer's publicist said in a statement to The Huffington Post. "Once it became known that the third-party promoter was linked to the Qaddafi family, the decision was made to put that payment to a good cause."

Singer Nelly Furtado tweeted February 28 that she plans to make similar amends.

"In 2007, I received 1million$ from the Gadhafi clan to perform a 45 min. show for guests at a hotel in Italy," she tweeted. "I am going to donate the $."

The leader of Libya since a successful military coup in 1969, Gadhafi has reportedly lost control of much of his country as a result of widespread uprisings. The United Nations voted unanimously to refer the dictator to the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity.
