Rumors abounded in recent days that Justin Bieber would be canceling a scheduled Australian gig because of a back injury. Not only did Bieber not cancel his Thursday (April 28) show in Sydney, he even brought a special guest to the gig.

"I don't cancel ... In route to Sydney!! THE SHOW IS ON!! I don't let my fans down! LEGGO!! #myworldtour," he wrote on Twitter before the gig. "Sydney ... Leggo! #myworldtour"

Hours later, Bieber and his crew revealed to fans who couldn't be at the show that his "Up" remix partner, Chris Brown, had taken the stage with him Down Under. "@JustinBieber and @ChrisBrown just tore the stage down. INSANE. #MyWorldTour," music video director and Bieber insider Alfredo Flores tweeted. Fans then began to weigh in on the pairing, causing Bieber to retweet their kind praise for the performance.

"I feel bad for that stage cause I just heard @justinbieber & @chrisbrown just killed the stage! LOOK AT ME NOW!" AlexisDanielle6 wrote.

Another Belieber, annargh, added, "@JustinBieber that was the most amazing concert I've ever been to! You are so talented! THANK YOU FOR SHARING IT WITH US."

Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, even tweeted a picture of the two performing together, writing, "Look At Them Now! @justinbieber and @chrisbrown 2nite in SYDNEY ... KILL'T IT!"

Bieber obviously had the final say, writing, "And they thought we might cancel tonight. Look at Me Now! I love Australia! #SWAG."

According to a report in The Daily Telegraph, the crowd of nearly 16,000 girls went mad as Bieber played on the latest stop on his My World tour at the Acer Arena. "By the time the countdown clock announced the arrival of the 17-year-old superstar, you would have thought these over-excited, sugar-fueled kids would be ready to relax and enjoy the show," the review noted. "Nope, they blew the decibel reader into the red — reaching 110 decibels between songs — the equivalent of a chainsaw. Ear plugs were a matter of survival."

Oksana Drops Dromestic Abuse Claims Against Mel Gibson

In a move that shocked the courtroom, Oksana Grigorieva dropped her domestic violence claim against Mel Gibson at a hearing for the couple's custody case earlier today (May 4).

According to TMZ, Oksana's lawyer, Dan Horowitz, told Judge Scott Gordon that they would no longer claim Mel's alleged violence as grounds to take away his custody rights.

Furthermore, the domestic violence protective order Grigorieva obtained, which prohibited Gibson from contacting her, has also been terminated as of today.

Sources say this was an effort to extend an olive branch in an attempt to settle the custody case and as well as to open the communication lines between the two former lovers.

'Moulin Rouge' Fashions: Experts Weigh In!

Kelly Cutrone and Robert Verdi recall the film's influence on style back in 2001 before MTV News' live stream today at 3 p.m. ET.

"Moulin Rouge" wasn't just about the music; it was also about the fashion. Costume designer Catherine Martin took home the Oscar when the film premiered, thanks to taking turn-of-the-century styles and updating them for a brand-new century. Nicole Kidman dazzled in a bevy of corsets, feathers and sequins.

"When 'Moulin Rouge' came out 10 years ago, the entire fashion world was on the edge of their seat waiting to see the looks that were going to appear in the movie," celebrity stylist Robert Verdi recalled. "Fifteen years prior, we hadn't seen those shape-changing looks that women really love. We had gone away from it. The '90s were kind of bleak and austere and dark, and here comes 'Moulin Rouge' and restores our faith in fantasy and in fashion."

Fashion PR maven Kelly Cutrone had a similar recollection of the film's fashion, which had fans trying to re-create those bombshell looks. "It was one of the first films in a really long time to actually invade and take over the fashion industry," she said. "We went from kind of asymmetrical oversized clothing to everybody's wearing corsets. ... It was great for all the corsets designers."

For more on the film, check out MTV News' special "Moulin Rouge at 10: A Spectacular Spectacular MTV News Event," which looks at the influence of the film on all things pop culture, including fashion.

MTV News will reunite director Baz Luhrmann and Ewan McGregor, today at 3 p.m. ET on MTV.com. The director and actor will be joined by co-star John Leguizamo, who played artist Toulouse-Lautrec, and Martin, who won the Oscar not only for costume design and but also for art direction. Hosted by MTV News' Josh Horowitz, the live stream will include special appearances and live interviews while looking back at how the film came to be and how its legacy continues to grow.

Britney Spears Drops Official 'Till The World Ends' Remix

New track with Nicki Minaj, Ke$ha follows leaked version, plus Brit tweets single's cover art.
By Jocelyn Vena

Just days after it was leaked on Friday, Britney Spears and her femme fatales, Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha, dropped their official remix of "Till the World Ends."

The new version of the song was produced by Dr. Luke and Dream Machine. Brit half-whispers " 'Till the World Ends' remix" before the beat kicks in and Nicki hits her verse hard. She spits fierce lines like, "Sniff, sniff, cries/ I done slayed your whole entire f---ing life."

Then Britney's sex-kitten vocals kick in for the song's first verse. "That's Britney, bitch! I'm Nicki Minaj and that's Ke$ha," the Queens MC declares before K sings the chorus. The beat is harder, the loops are sassier and the song is grimier than the original version, which was the second single from Femme Fatale. The newly added dubstep portion takes the one from "Hold It Against Me" to a new level by adding in bass-heavy synths.

Ke$ha, of course, wrote the track for Britney, and the ladies certainly don't seem to mind sharing the spotlight with each other. The official track isn't much different than the version that leaked over the weekend, though Spears did have something brand-new to share with her fans just as the song dropped on iTunes and streamed on her website.

Spears tweeted the artwork for the single, which features the original press photo of Spears along with separate photos of Nicki on the left and Ke$ha on the right. Spears wrote, "@NickiMinaj @Keshasuxx Too much fierceness for one cover! Thanks for lending your voices girls... #TTWEREMIX — Brit"

Spears and Minaj have been hanging out a lot in the lead-up to their summer tour. They hung out at the Factory nightclub on Friday night after Minaj's show in Los Angeles. Spears later wrote, "Early rehearsal after a late night with my girl @NickiMinaj. Can't WAIT to get out on the road with you."

Lady Gaga Releases Born This Way Track Listing

When Lady Gaga debuts her music video for "Judas" on Thursday, we'll be one step closer to the release of what she once called "the greatest album of this decade." And on Monday, she tweeted the track listing for Born This Way, which hits the streets on May 23.

The "original" album tracks include "Marry the Night," "Born This Way," "Government Hooker," "Judas," "Americano," "Hair," "Scheibe," "Bloody Mary," "Bad Kids," "Highway Unicorn (Road to Love)," "Heavy Metal Lover," "Electric Chapel," "You and I" and "Edge of Glory."

The "special edition" will have five more tracks. "Born This Way Country Road Version," "Judas DJ White Shadow Remix," "Marry the Night Fernando Garibay Remix," "Scheibe DJ White Shadow Mugler" and "Fashion of His Love Fernando Garibay Remix."

DJ White Shadow spoke to MTV News earlier this year and about the album. "I don't even know how to explain it. [Born This Way] is not a pop album; it's a pop masterpiece of music. If there was no category of pop music, you wouldn't call it pop music," he said.

"She thinks of sh-- that I can't comprehend," he added. "It doesn't make sense to me, and I'm a creative person. ... Working with her is totally different than anyone else I've ever done anything with. She's the most hands-on person I've ever run into. She could walk into Steve Jobs' office and tell him he's doing Apple wrong, and he'd listen. As a producer, it's super cool to be with somebody who generally cares and is fully involved."

Gaga also tweeted her excitement over the "Judas" video. "JUDASVIDEO PREMIERE 5.5.11 on E! 7/6c + 11:30/10c. Motorcycle Fellini PopArt FantasyFilm + Haus Directorial Debut," she shared and tweeted an image from the video. In it, Gaga rides a motorcycle and leads a gang as they ride a highway.

Will 'Twilight Saga: Eclipse' Rule The 2011 MTV Movie Awards?

MTV News examines the flick's chances by taking a look at Movie Awards history.
By Jocelyn Vena

"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" is nominated for eight MTV Movie Awards, eclipsing the competition and leading the (wolf) pack as the most nominated film at this year's show.

With so many chances to take home some Golden Popcorn come Sunday, June 5, things look pretty good for "Eclipse," especially considering the franchise's Movie Awards history. Let's take a look at their 2011 prospects:

Best Movie
The competition: "Eclipse" is up against "Black Swan," "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1," "Inception" and "The Social Network."

Has "Twilight" won before?: Yes. In 2009, "Twilight" took home the prize, and in 2010, "New Moon" won. Will the streak stay alive for a third year? That's up to fans.

Best Female Performance
The competition: Kristen Stewart is up against Emma Stone ("Easy A"), Emma Watson ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1"), Jennifer Aniston ("Just Go With It") and Natalie Portman ("Black Swan").

Has "Twilight" won before?: KStew won in 2009 and 2010 and has her eye on the threepeat.

Best Male Performance
The competition: Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson are up against Daniel Radcliffe ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1"), Jesse Eisenberg ("The Social Network") and Zac Efron ("Charlie St. Cloud").

Has "Twilight" won before?: In 2009, no one from "Twilight" was nominated, and Zac Efron took it home for "High School Musical 3." In 2010, both guys were nominated and RPattz won (he also took home the Global Superstar award). Could this be Taylor's year?

Best Breakout Star
The competition: Xavier Samuel is up against Andrew Garfield ("The Social Network"), Chloë Grace Moretz ("Kick-Ass"), Hailee Steinfeld ("True Grit"), Jay Chou ("The Green Hornet") and Olivia Wilde ("Tron Legacy").

Has "Twilight" won before?: In 2009, RPattz won the then-gender-specific Breakthrough Male Performance award. In 2010, "Twilight" castmate Anna Kendrick won for her work in "Up in the Air." Perhaps some of that luck will rub off on Xavier?

Best Fight
The competition: Robert Pattinson's fight vs. Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel is up against Amy Adams vs. the Sisters ("The Fighter"), Chloë Grace Moretz vs. Mark Strong ("Kick-Ass"), Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint vs. Death Eaters ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1") and Joseph Gordon-Levitt vs. Hallway Attacker ("Inception").

Has "Twilight" won before?: Cam Gigandet and Pattinson's big fight won in 2009, but "The Twilight Saga" wasn't nominated last year, when Beyoncé and Ali Larter took it home for "Obsessed." Perhaps voters will declare vamp fights the new catfights in 2011.

Best Kiss
The competition: Kristen Stewart's kiss with Robert Pattinson and her smooch with Taylor Lautner are up against Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis ("Black Swan"), Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon-Levitt ("Inception") and Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1").

Has "Twilight" won before?: KStew and RPattz have ruled this category for two years running. Maybe fans will give the Bella and Jacob love a little shine at the 2011 Movie Awards.

Big Boi Calls Modest Mouse Collabo 'A Hodgepodge Of Funkiness'

Oddball pairing isn't all that odd to Big Boi, who describes the new songs as 'jamming.'
By James Montgomery

Last week, when Big Boi tweeted that he was "camped out in the lab" with Modest Mouse, the news was greeted with a resounding "WTF?!?" from fans of not only the Mouse, but Outkast as well.

But, as Big Boi told MTV News, the idea of teaming up with Modest Mouse made perfect sense to him.

"I've been a fan of the band for a minute. ... We're all musicians and producers and artists, and it's just like a big-ass brainstorm, a brain-stormin', tsunami, typhoon, tectonic-plates-movin' kind of thing," he said. "We do all types of music, so to get the chance to jam with a jammin'-ass band, I knew it was going to be cool. We had a vibe too. We made a couple of records that are just jamming. It's a hodgepodge of funkiness."

Working with longtime producer Chris Carmouche, Big Boi and Modest Mouse spent nearly a week in the rapper's Stankonia Studios ("We was live from Stankonia, baby, they had to come catch the vibe," Boi laughed), jamming, recording and, most importantly, vibing.

"[Modest Mouse frontman] Isaac [Brock] and I were talking about our lives, different backgrounds, how he grew up, talking about music, different songs," Big Boi explained. "He gave me backstories on different songs they did, like 'Wild Pack of Family Dogs,' gave me stories on that. It was a real chill atmosphere, so it was basically just kicking it around the studio, just chopping it up. We was in here doing 14-hour days. ... It was all day long. We'd jam, we'd talk, we'd jam some more. It was a real cool experience."

And though he wouldn't reveal much about the songs they recorded — Carmouche, who sat in on the interview, described one track as "enchanted and enlightened," another as "hard-core" and a third as "kind of funky" — or, really, when anyone will get to hear them, Big Boi promised that they'll appeal to fans of both acts. And he gives his word that, no matter how out-there the collaboration may seem, the result is definitely going to be worth it.

"Mainly, me and Chris are acting as producers on the record. I'm not rapping on anything, as of yet. ... It's their music. I'm also a producer, as well as an artist, but I'm not just going to jump on something just to jump on it, you know?" he said. "The fans don't have to worry. There's nothing like, 'Oh, Modest Mouse, there's some rapping going on the album!' If there needs to be some rapping on there, I will destroy it, but right now, we're just really marinating with the music to see where everything's going to go. ... Just know this mother----er is jamming, man. Believe me."

What are you expecting from Big Boi's collabo with Modest Mouse? Let us know in the comments!
