With "X-Men: First Class" being the fourth "X-Men" film released this decade, you might think you know a thing or two about our favorite friendly (and not-so-friendly) neighborhood mutants, but the latest installment of the franchise, out Friday (June 3), is here to prove you wrong.

MTV News caught up with the stars of the summer blockbuster recently, and they were more than willing to clear up any preconceived notions we might have had about their characters.

"Professor Charles Xavier, when we meet him, is actually Dr. Charles Xavier, but he becomes a professor during the course of the movie," James McAvoy clarified. "His power is he can read, bend and manipulate your mind, and his relationship with Erik [a.k.a. Magneto] is probably the closest relationship he's ever had."

"Erik Lehnsherr-slash-Magneto, he is ruthless, intelligent, charming and adaptable," Michael Fassbender teased.

Jennifer Lawrence explained how her character, Raven Darkholme/ Mystique, is connected to the two main men. "Magneto to her is kind of this iconic man that's kind of the crush that she's always had and she admires him very much. And Charles [Xavier] has always been like a brother to her," Lawrence said.

There are quite a few new characters to add to the mix as well, most notably Kevin Bacon as bad guy Sebastian Shaw, the head of the Hellfire Club.

"My power is to be able to absorb energy and harness it and throw it back at whoever is trying to use that energy against me," Bacon explained to MTV.

Then there's Emma Frost, played by January Jones, who is Shaw's right-hand woman. "Her powers are twofold," Jones explained. "She has the mental capacity to read minds or control them, and then also, physically, she can change into a diamond form, which makes her physically indestructible."

Some other new characters are Zoe Kravitz's Angel Salvadore, a go-go dancer who is able to sprout wings, and Lucas Till's Havoc, a liability who has no control over the beams he can sprout from his body.

You can bet there are plenty more mutants that join the first class, but you'll have to meet them on your own in theaters now.

Check out everything we've got on "X-Men: First Class."

Ashley Olsen: Big Apple Babe

Stepping out to tend to the day?s duties, Ashley Olsen was spotted leaving her New York City digs on Friday (June 3).

The former ?Full House? gal looked cute in a nautical-esque ensemble as she made her way to an awaiting vehicle as the paparazzi quickly snapped up some photographs.

In other news, it was being reported earlier this week that Ms Olsen and Justin Timberlake had taken a liking to each other.

But according to Timberlake?s rep, ?Justin is not romantically involved with anyone? and the two ?have mutual friends. They were hanging out as a group.?

Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj And Ke$ha 'Till The World Ends' Remix Leaks

Reworked tune features an opening verse by Minaj as Ke$ha sings atop Spears' vocals throughout the song.

Britney Spears isn't the only pop titan dancing until the world ends: Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha have joined forces to add a new spin on an all-female remix of Femme Fatale's second single, "Till the World Ends."

The reworked dance anthem, which leaked online Friday (April 22), appears to have surfaced earlier than expected as noted by a series of countdowns on all three of the stars' websites.

Mixing the dance tune's original sonic swirls with heavier bass, Britney tourmate Minaj starts off the remix by throwing down an aggressive verse, in which she calls out a female hater: "A-A-A-A-A-AYE!/ Chimpanzees is hatin', but I take it all in stride/ Put her in a jungle with bananas on the side/ Told you they'd revive your career, but somebody lied/ I ain't talkin' poultry when I say this chicken's fried."

After Minaj spits a few introductory bars, Spears delivers the song's first verse before an introduction for the all-star trio. "It's Britney, bitch. I'm Nicki Minaj and that's Ke$ha!" the Young Money MC proclaims.

Ke$ha, who originally wrote the track for the pop princess, takes part in singing the club-ready track's chorus. Spears soon takes back control of the song as Ke$ha shadows the singer's lines toward the end of the second verse and bridge. Unlike the original version, the "Till the World Ends" remix also features a stuttering dubstep dance break.

News of a star-studded collaboration was hinted earlier this week when producer Dr. Luke tweeted, "@NICKIMINAJ killed it tonight!!!! thanks!!!"

'The Help' Stars Talk Tearjerkers At MTV's Sneak Peek Week

Emma Stone and Bryce Dallas Howard open up about book-turned-movie during Q&A session.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, California — Emma Stone and Bryce Dallas Howard spoke to a packed room at the Pacific Design Center on Thursday night (June 2) for the latest installment in MTV's Sneak Peek Week, opening up about retro tearjerker "The Help," which screened to an excited crowd shortly before the chat.

Since the book-turned-film is certainly emotional, we asked its leading ladies if they ever reach for the tissues in the movie theater.

"Oh, I cry!" Emma Stone admitted. "It's shocking I'm not crying right now. I cried at 'Air Bud.' I cried at 'Spice World.' " But what about when she watches her own movies? "That's crying out of terror and self-loathing," she joked.

All joking aside, Stone is really proud of "The Help" and "felt it reflected the book."

"When you read the book, you have a vision of those characters too," she said. "I definitely understand being protective of the material."

"The Help" is the film adaptation of the best-selling novel set in the South during the civil-rights movement. It stars Stone, Howard and Viola Davis and focuses on the bonds formed in the face of adversity. Stone is the flick's protagonist, Skeeter, who works to make a change through writing a book about the hardships felt by minorities in the South during this pivotal time in history.

"She's a bit of a modern woman," Stone said of her character. "When I was younger, I thought I wanted to be a writer. She's curious about people and she's questioning her life."

Howard, meanwhile, plays the bigoted Hilly, and the actress said she latched onto something very specific about the character to make her relatable.

"The thing I eventually grabbed onto was her ignorance," Howard explained. "Once I understood, I then could attempt to play that character."

Stone used her costumes to help her get into character. "The accent is always a major concern, and then, of course, knowing how to be Southern, there's a lot of challenges," Stone said. "This is the first time I felt more in character after putting on the wardrobe. It was wonderful to have that."

Stick with MTV News all week as we gear up for Sunday's Movie Awards with a Sneak Peek Week screening and live-stream Q&A session every night this week.

J.J. Abrams, Steven Spielberg To Unveil 'Super 8' Clip At Movie Awards

Stars Elle Fanning, Joel Courtney will also be on hand to present exclusive scene on Sunday.

Details have been scarce about this summer's potential blockbuster "Super 8," as J.J. Abrams and company have maintained their typical air of secrecy about the thriller, which hits theaters on June 10. All that could change on Sunday night, when viewers will get a sneak peek at the Steven Spielberg-produced movie at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards.

Both director Abrams and Spielberg will join "Super 8" stars Elle Fanning and Joel Courtney on the stage of the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, to present never-before-seen footage from the film, which chronicles a mysterious event accidentally caught on film by the cast of young stars.

All we know so far about the movie's plot is that while making a homemade zombie movie, a group of kids film "something" escaping a train crash. And whatever it is sends their town into turmoil. The "Super 8" trailer has earned comparisons to such Spielberg classics as 1977's "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."

Earlier this year, Abrams explained to MTV News why he's kept a tight lid on the flick's details. "I feel like the fun of the movie is the experience of these characters and the most fun you can have as an audience is not going in feeling like you've seen more of the film than the characters have," he said. "My gut would be, as it always is, is that less is more. We have no intention of spoiling the fun prior to the film being released."

The MTV Movie Awards will be hosted by "Saturday Night Live" funnyman Jason Sudeikis and will air live on Sunday at 9 p.m. The show will also include an exclusive clip from "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1."

Abrams, Spielberg, Fanning and Courtney join a previously announced slate of presenters that includes: Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Steve Carell, Emma Stone, Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel, Patrick Dempsey, Cameron Diaz, Jason Segel, Jesse Eisenberg, Aziz Ansari, Danny McBride, Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy.

The show will also feature the Foo Fighters playing their new single "Walk" and two songs from Lupe Fiasco, who will serve up "The Show Goes On" and the first-ever televised performance of his Trey Songz collabo, "Out of My Head."

Cameron Diaz & Alex Rodriguez Split?

Another famous couple bites the dust. Cameron Diaz and Alex Rodriguez have reportedly called it quits after a year of dating. Anyone surprised by this, nope me neither. A-Rod and Diaz are no longer an item, according to Perez Hilton anyway. The celebrity blogger claims to have a source that told him Alex did the dumping because Cameron tried too hard to please him. Oh and that the Bad Teacher star is devastated she got dumped. Given the source take the info for what it is worth is all I have to say. It was only last month that the actress even confirmed that she was dating the Yankees hottie, even though they had been hot and heavy for months. The duo even took a vacation with his kids not that long ago. I have to say I don?t know if these two are really dunzo or not but of course I am going to give you my input on the topic. I don?t find it hard to believe that they are kaput at all, that portion of this rumor is actually quite believable. After all he is a ladies? man and she seems to have some commitment issues. Let?s [...]
